Why the role?
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Secretary to support our dynamic Sydney office. Our team are committed to excellence for our clients as well as managing your own lifestyle and wellbeing; we have high expectations of our work but also an understanding of when to let your hair down and switch off. This role is a part time position for 2 days per week being Thursday and Friday, with the option to extend to 3 days working on a Wednesday if required.
With a successful practice already established and still growing, you must be eager to assist our fee earners in cultivating quality client relationships. We prioritise team success, and an attitude that we should all lift up those we work with – your success in this role will be reliant on your ability to engage with your colleagues, get your job done and help to grow our team’s practice.
Job Description
What does a standard week look like?
Document management (organisation and filing on electronic files)
Management of billing process, including e-billing
Entering disbursements and sundry accounts (Elite3E)
Client reporting
Drafting court documents, court filing, arranging service of documents
Arranging couriers
Compiling e-briefs to counsel and other experts
Word processing
Drafting, editing and despatching letters
Drafting and submitting relevant Medicare / Centrelink forms
Arranging medical appointments
Opening and closing files
Arranging interstate travel

To be successful in this role, you will have at least 3 years’ experience in a legal administrative position with exposure to litigation, ideally supporting an insurance team. You’ll have strong MS Office proficiency, impeccable organisation and self-management skills, and at least 60 wpm accurate typing skills. We also value a sense of humour and the ability to make the office an enjoyable and friendly place to work.
