Job Description
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you’ll own the day‑to‑day leadership and operational excellence of our legal support teams and office environments.
You’ll be the go‑to problem solver, coach and escalation point, ensuring our lawyers are backed by best‑in‑class support and our offices run like clockwork.
This is a hands‑on leadership role within national, high-impact team.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be trusted to:
Lead, mentor and develop high‑performing legal support teams with clarity, warmth and accountability
Create a positive, collaborative and high‑engagement culture grounded in trust, feedback and growth
Set clear expectations, manage performance and champion continuous learning and development
Oversee timesheets, leave, overtime and compliance with firm policies and procedures
Run performance reviews, identify career pathways and play a key role in recruitment and selection
Act as the primary escalation point, confidently resolving issues and keeping things moving
Drive continuous improvement, streamlining workflows and lifting service quality across the firm
Work closely with our Operations Assistant to support our facilities management & office operations end‑to‑end.
Keep a sharp eye on costs, audits and reporting, including billing and end‑of‑month deliverables
Step in with hands‑on support when needed. No task too small, no challenge too big
Partner with leadership on business development, marketing initiatives and internal events
Bring fresh ideas that enhance how we work and how it feels to work here
Desired Skills and Experience
What You’ll Bring
You’re someone who:
Have experience as an Office Manager or in a comparable leadership role
Is a natural, inclusive leader who builds strong relationships and brings people along
Thrives on organisation, prioritisation and juggling competing deadlines with ease
Understands trust accounting, billing and legal support operations
Is comfortable with legal terminology, court processes and electronic filing systems
Has proven experience coaching, training and developing others
Is tech‑savvy and confident using systems such as Elite 3E, iManage, Doc Assist and Microsoft Office
Communicates with confidence, clarity and professionalism at all levels
